Charles N. Lafferty, Attorney at Law

Attorney Charles N. Lafferty is a well-seasoned practitioner, having 40 years of experience in the practice of law. His practice is now concentrated in the following areas: probate court, estates, guardianships, wills, trusts, elder law, estate planning, powers of attorney, health care directives, Medicaid issues, real estate, business and personal injury. He is well experienced in many other practice areas. He is admitted to practice in the Courts of Ohio, Pennsylvania, U.S. District Court, and United States Supreme Court.
His professional experience includes 31 years serving as Acting Judge in the Conneaut Municipal Court when requested by the sitting Judge, and serving as Special or Outside Counsel to 4 Ohio Attorney Generals. He is Vice President of GreatWave Communications and President and Executive Director of the George J. Record School Foundation. His community service has included city councilman, school board member, Ashtabula County Children Services Board, Big Brothers/Big Sisters Board, Public Defender and Legal Aid Boards, and youth baseball and basketball coach. Attorney Lafferty graduated from Conneaut High School, Baldwin-Wallace College, and the Ohio Northern University College of Law. He has two fine sons, Alex and John.   Attorney Lafferty works closely with the volunteer guardianship program for Catholic Charities of Ashtabula County, and has for many years.  In 2016 he received their "Voice of Hope Award."

Bonnie Todd, Paralegal

Bonnie has been employed as a Paralegal at Lafferty Law Office since 2005. Previous to that she worked for 30 years in professional offices in Northeast Ohio. Bonnie has many years of experience working with probate matters including estates, guardianships and estate planning. Bonnie enjoys working with families and elderly clients. In July of 2008, Bonnie became a Certified Paralegal through the Ohio State Bar Association. She continues to attend various continuing legal education courses to keep her skills current. Bonnie conducts herself as a true professional.

Bonnie graduated from Edgewood High School in Ashtabula Township, Ohio. She has lived in the North Kingsville/Conneaut area her entire life. She enjoys watching the beautiful sunsets on Lake Erie, spending time with her family, making quilts, attending craft shows and watching sports, especially basketball and football.

Rayne L. Burr, Legal Assistant

Previous to working at Lafferty Law Office Rayne was employed in professional positions and offices in Ashtabula County, Ohio. Rayne has many, many years of experience working with Court Documents, Real Estate matters, Business forms and Professionals. She enjoys servicing and working with families and elderly clients, with compassion and sympathy. 

Rayne attended Ashtabula High School and graduated from Kent State University, Ashtabula Campus. She has lived in the Ashtabula/Conneaut area most of her life. She enjoys working with people to promote local communities and events such as The Covered Bridge Festival, Relay for Life of Ashtabula County, Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity of Ashtabula County, ACBR Hospice events and more. She loves nature and all that it has to offer including camping, hiking, swimming, boating and more. Rayne has a husband and four grown boys who are all employed in our great communities.
